Privacy and cookie policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit this website or contact our firm, why we use it, and how you can exercise your rights. The Portuguese version prevails in case of any discrepancy.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Moraes Zizuel Advocacia, Brazilian company ID (CNPJ) 60.099.258/0001-19, based in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is the controller of personal data processed through this website and in client work.
Our data protection officer is Thiago Moraes Zizuel (Brazilian Bar, OAB/RJ 157.251), who can be reached on WhatsApp at +55 24 99837-3242.
2. What data we process
Data you send us. This website has no form that sends data to us. The "Compose your message" tool only prepares text on your own device and opens it in WhatsApp, where you decide whether to send it. When you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, company, trademark and details about your matter.
Client data. To provide our services we process the applicant’s identification details (name or company name, address, tax or company ID, email) and the documents needed for filings at INPI or other proceedings.
Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically logs information such as IP address, browser type and access time for security and operation. We do not use audience analytics or advertising tools.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (LGPD, art. 7) |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote | Pre-contractual steps at your request (item V) |
| Providing the services you hire, including filings and monitoring at INPI | Performance of a contract (item V) |
| Complying with legal, tax and professional obligations | Legal or regulatory obligation (item II) |
| Defending rights in administrative, court or arbitration proceedings | Regular exercise of rights (item VI) |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Legitimate interest (item IX) |
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR may also apply. The equivalent legal bases are steps prior to a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests.
4. Who we share it with
- INPI. Trademark applications require the applicant’s details. INPI publishes some of them, such as the applicant’s name and address, in its official gazette (RPI) and public database.
- Service providers. Website hosting, WhatsApp (Meta) for conversations and Google Fonts for the website’s typefaces. Each processes data under its own policy.
- Authorities. When required by law or by order of a competent authority.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
5. International transfers
We are based in Brazil, so data you send us from abroad is transferred to Brazil. Some providers, such as WhatsApp and Google, may also store or process data outside Brazil. These transfers follow article 33 of the LGPD and are made to providers with appropriate safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, then only for the period required by law or needed to exercise rights, after which it is deleted. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted once no longer needed.
7. Confidentiality and security
Information you share with us is protected by attorney–client confidentiality under Brazilian law. We apply technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.
8. Your rights
Under article 18 of the LGPD you may ask us at any time to:
- confirm whether we process your data and give you access to it;
- correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
- anonymise, block or delete data that is unnecessary or processed unlawfully;
- port your data to another provider;
- tell you who we share your data with;
- delete data processed on the basis of consent, and withdraw that consent.
To exercise these rights, contact our data protection officer as shown in section 1. You may also lodge a complaint with Brazil’s data protection authority (ANPD) or, where the GDPR applies, with your local supervisory authority.
9. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This website does not set its own cookies, and uses no analytics, advertising or social media cookies. That is why we do not show a cookie consent banner.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address. Our hosting provider may use cookies that are strictly necessary for security, such as protection against automated traffic. Clicking a WhatsApp button takes you to WhatsApp, which has its own cookie and privacy rules.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If we ever start using cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
10. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, our services or the law. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
